According to Wikipedia, "Hall family lore insists that Jennie had Iroquois ancestry through her maternal grandmother; however, there is no research or evidence to corroborate this. (Hall was the birth surname of Jennie Jerome's mother, Clarissa – always known as Clara.)
Wikipedia cites an article on the winstonchurchill.org website (in the Myths section), which says that "Despite the much–mooted Indian features of some of Clarissa's descendants, there is no genealogical evidence to support Indian ancestry in the Jerome lineage."
